Call Experts provides resources for its call center, answering service clients

Digital or Direct Dial Paging

Definition: This is a pager that only accepts numeric codes (i.e. phone numbers).

Information Needed: The pager number.

Typically Used For: These types of pagers are being phased out by most paging companies and replaced with Text to Mobile paging (see below).

Confirmation Options: Call Experts can page the on-call with a check-in number. The on-call will call this number to retrieve the message. Call Experts can also page the on-call with the direct number to call back your original caller.

Alpha Numeric Paging

Definition: This is a Text pager that can receive numbers and/or letters.

Information Needed: The pager number, the name of your paging company, the modem route for sending Text pages (supplied by your paging company).

Typically Used For: This paging option is often used for offices that do not require the on-call to confirm the message. These pages are simple messages that cannot be replied back to from the paging unit (unless you have a 2-way pager. If you have a 2-way pager, please ask for more information).

Confirmation Options: We can page the on-call to call back to confirm the message verbally with a live agent. We can also page the on-call with a non-live number to call to confirm. When calling the non-live number, the on-call will enter a call code to confirm the message. The number to call and the call code will be provided on each page that is sent out.

Text to Mobile paging or SMS Messaging

Definition: This is the newest technology in call dispatching. The requested information will appear on a mobile telephone as a Text Message.

Information Needed: Your mobile telephone number is all we need! You will need to make sure that your mobile telephone can receive Text Messages. We also recommend that you purchase an unlimited texting plan if you have a lot of dispatch activity.

Typically Used For: Offices that want their technicians to have immediate access to the caller information or offices that have technicians who are often in transit and unable to write down the caller’s information.

Confirmation Options: Since the on-call has all of the needed information, you may opt out of replying altogether. If this is the case, you can direct us to require a confirmation only on a 2nd or 3rd call from a caller. You may also opt out of replying to certain types of call and chose to receive confirmations on others. All of these options are customizable. To confirm a message directly from your mobile telephone, without utilizing any live agent time, you can simply hit the reply button on your mobile telephone and key in the response indicated in the text message (for example “ok36”). Each call will be assigned a call code so that our system will know which message is being confirmed.
